Webinar on the Digitalization of Interpreting

As part of the Decade of Science, a webinar was held on April 2, 2026, for undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation Studies of the Faculty of World Languages. The speaker was Zhanara Sovetovna Tusupbekova, PhD, conference interpreter at Astana Interpreters, and lecturer in the Faculty of Humanities at Maksut Narikbayev University.

The speaker discussed a new type of translation called augmented interpreting, which involves the work of an interpreter using artificial intelligence, and the tools used for this process, including Adobe Firefly, Gemini, Notebook LM, GrammarlyGO, Perplexity AI, Subtitles Service, and others. The webinar generated keen interest among the students, and many questions were asked. The meeting was moderated by Doctor of Philology Sciences, Professor Aigul Kazkenovna Zhumabekova.
