Continuing a Good Tradition: Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan Awards Scholarships to Abai KazNPU Students

February 11, 2026 - The second solemn scholarship award ceremony was held at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University for 2nd–4th year students of the specialty “Teacher of Korean and English Languages” of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation. Financial support was provided at the initiative of the Chairman of the Management Board of Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan JSC, Mr. Cho Yongeun.

The scholarship recipients were selected from among students who have demonstrated high academic performance and active involvement in university life. The ceremony was attended by Managing Director of Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan, Mr. N. Jaxykeldinov; Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization, Ms. A.T. Iskakova; Director of the Department of International Cooperation (DIC), Ms. B.O. Saparghaliyeva; Dean of the Faculty of World Languages, Mr. Y.T. Ospanov; Head of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation, Ms. K.H. Abdrakhmanova; and Senior Lecturer of the Korean Language, Ms. Nam N.

They congratulated the students and presented them with personalized certificates and scholarships. The University expressed its gratitude to the Bank for its continued support and commitment to this meaningful tradition, which not only motivates young people to achieve new academic heights but also contributes to strengthening friendly relations between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea. In his remarks while presenting diplomas and letters of appreciation to the top students, Mr. N. Jaxykeldinov emphasized that supporting education is an important part of the Bank’s corporate social responsibility. According to him, special attention is given to the training of future Korean language teachers and to the development of educational cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea, which remains one of the key priorities of Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan.
