A creative meeting with renowned Kazakh artisans was organized at the Faculty of Arts

On February 20, 2026, the Faculty of Arts of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University organized and held an event titled "A Creative Meeting with Outstanding Masters of Decorative and Applied Arts of Kazakhstan."
The purpose of the meeting was to conduct master classes, facilitate the exchange of experience with artisans, and organize a Q&A session.

As part of the event, renowned masters of traditional Kazakh crafts conducted master classes:
Ulbosyn Baktygalievna Daulenova - on traditional felt-making,
Tilek Sultan - on traditional "biz keste" embroidery,
Gulzira Belyalovna Sarsenbayeva - on traditional artistic weaving.
During the meeting, a creative exhibition of national costumes and handmade craft items created by the мастers was organized.

The event began with an official opening ceremony attended by the university`s vice-rectors, Sultan Ertai and Maksat Donesuly Zhakauov. As part of the master classes, the artisans demonstrated new technologies in the production process and gave interested students the opportunity to try the process themselves, become familiar with the techniques, and practice specific stages of craft-making.
